One of my earlier 3D-rendered works, Fly Paper won 3rd Place in the 1995 Crystal Graphics National Art Competition in the Still Image category along with Time Piece, one of my other images in the gallery.

Originally, the work was modeled using Caligari's trueSpace (version 1.0) However, the numerous and complex metalic surfaces proved too much for that program, forcing me to use Crystal Graphics' Topas 5.1, which still required over 30 hours to render (on a 486/66 PC).

In reality, the ship in the foreground and the black hole in the background are two separate 3D-modelled images which were composted together using Adobe Photoshop to produce the final result.
